Dublin...

Can you believe It has been 3 months since I left Perth for the big wide world of London and beyond?! Time certainly does fly.

I  was unfortunate to be struck down by an awful flu a few weekends ago that saw me bed ridden with a nasty fever and the usual symptoms, my first weekend I wished I was home. My housemates were super sweet though and I'm all recovered now!

Since I last touched based I have been having even more fun. Emma and I set off for a weekend of Madness in Dublin for St Patricks day. My first of many trips out of England and it certainly lived up to expectations. We arrived at our hostel which as far as hostels are concerned this one was fairly nice, except for our room being right next to major rail way lines. I'm sure I will see a lot worse in my travels. We were apart of a top deck tour so on our first night we all headed to the Arlington, a typical Irish pub with live Irish dancing and music. Irish music just makes you want to get up and dance and of course I did just that, I'm almost as good as the professionals I think : ) We also headed to temple bar a really cool cobblestone street filled with Irish pubs, restaurants and street music. It's a shame there's no where like this back home.

The next day we set off on a walking your of Dublin and in true Dublin style it rained for most of it. I was 1 of the lucky ones who had packed an umbrella, so apart from my feet I stayed relatively dry. Our walk include the river Liffey, some beautiful bridges, Molly Malone, Dublin castle and trinity college. Trinity college was a big favourite of mine, it was absolutely stunning! Oscar Wilde among others studied there and I could have spent days exploring. I felt like a little girl enjoying myself so much I had to do a cartwheel on the beautiful green grass! Dublin castle and cathedral was also beautiful AND it is where Posh and Becks got married which made it that little but cooler! Of course I reenacted the wedding scene : ) Our walk finished up at the famous Guinness Storehouse. 7 levels explaining how the beer is made and lots of touristy stuff. By the time you reach the top you get a 360 degree view of Dublin and a free pint of Guinness! To be honest I could only get through half of mine but at least I tried it. Em and I headed back and stopped off at a pub for lunch, one of the best pub meals I've had! We then headed back to the hostle for some r n r before heading  into temple bar for some fun and dancing in the street.

So St Patricks day had arrived and after an early morning wake up we set off for the day. We headed to O'Connell bridge where we would wait for a couple of hours before the parade. Lucky Em and I came prepared. We had a great spot for the parade and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It wasn't as Irish as we had hoped, but none the less entertaining with a great atmosphere. Then it was off for the main part of the day. Our tour had booked out a room for us at a pub called the Woolshed. The only disappointing part was that it was an Australian pub.   Go figure! And because our tour was filled with mostly American and Canadians there were few English and Irish around, although I did find a few, shame I found it highly difficult comprehending what they were saying : ) we watched the rugby and it was such a great day, one that I will remember forever.

Then came Emma's birthday, the day after St Patricks Day!! We didn't have much planned as we were a little worried we would have sore heads but we were both surprisingly ok. So after breakfast we headed out for a day of shopping, eating (as we do best) and drinking. Another fun day!

It was then time to jump back on a plane and head back to London, only a mere 55 minute flight mind you! It was so crazy, flying anywhere from Perth takes atleast 5 hours so we really are spoilt over her. All in all Dublin was great, I ate the famous soda bread, drank some Guinness, met some great people,  whom I'll stay in contact with and most importantly had lots of fun.

Back in London and back to School. Apart from loving the education  system over here, I've realized I'm glad supply teaching isn't my career. The kids here certainly aren't like they are back home and it's not as mind stimulating as id like. But it's a job and it's allowing me to live my dreams.

Now for more exciting  adventures as my mum is coming to town in April and we are heading to Paris and Edinburgh together which will see more dreams come true. I cannot wait to see her!

Until next time...
Au revoir xxx
